Wix has no built-in announcement bar. The native route described in Wix’s own help is to build a banner yourself: add a strip element, put your message on it, and drag it into your header. BL Scrolling Announcement Bar is a Wix App Market app that gives you a scrolling bar with direction, speed, and spacing controls, multiple instances, and top or page-section placement - configured in the Wix Editor.
What Wix’s native route actually is
Wix Help’s article Adding an Announcement to Your Site lists several ways to announce something: a popup, a landing page, a banner at the top of your site, an email campaign, or a badge. For a bar at the top of every page, the documented route is the banner:
- Add a strip element to your site and customize it with your message.
- Drag the strip into the header until the Attach to Header notification appears, so it shows on every page.
- Your strip must be narrower than the header to fit inside it.
That banner is a static element you design and edit by hand in the Editor. It does not scroll, rotate between messages, or offer speed, direction, or spacing controls - every change is an Editor edit.
What the app adds
BL Scrolling Announcement Bar, per its Wix App Market listing and installed interface:
- Scrolling motion with adjustable speed, direction, and spacing - the bar moves on its own rather than sitting static.
- Font, colour, and layout settings in the app, so styling changes do not require rebuilding a strip.
- Multiple instances, placed at the top of the site or within a page section, added through the Wix Editor.
Who should stay with the native route
- You want one static strip message and are happy building it in the Wix Editor.
- You do not need motion or per-message rotation.
- You prefer no app installed for a simple notice.
Who should install the app
- You want a scrolling announcement rather than a static strip, with speed and direction under your control.
- You change messages often and would rather edit app settings than rebuild a strip each time.
- You want a bar inside a page section, not only attached to the header.
