Country-level access rules are useful when a merchant needs to guide visitors to the right regional storefront or manage an experience that is not available everywhere. BL Country Blocker supports country-based block and redirect workflows, with separate installation paths for Shopify and Wix.
Choose the platform-specific workflow
| Platform | Best starting point | Install |
|---|---|---|
| Shopify | Shopify Country Blocker setup guide. Activate the theme app embed after installation. | Shopify App Store |
| Wix | Wix Country Blocker setup guide. Configure the country rule in the Wix app. | Wix App Market |
What it can help you do
Use a blacklist when selected countries should be restricted, or an allowlist when only selected countries should remain available. Matching visitors can receive a custom full-page message or be redirected to a regional store, language site, or information page.
| Situation | Practical response |
|---|---|
| A regional storefront exists | Redirect to the relevant store and explain the reason for the move. |
| The store does not serve a market | Show a short message with a contact or information path. |
| The rule is temporary | Record why it exists and review it when fulfilment or availability changes. |
Important platform differences
Shopify: activate the app embed in the theme editor after installation. Wix: configure the country rule in the Wix app and test the published site.
What Country Blocker does not replace
Country blocking is not legal advice, fraud prevention, export-control analysis, tax configuration, shipping enforcement, or a complete compliance system. IP-based location signals can be imperfect, and storefront rules are not equivalent to CDN or firewall enforcement. Test the experience, keep the message helpful, and use a network-edge control when you must stop requests before the storefront loads.
Country Blocker FAQ
Can I use it without coding?
The supported marketplace workflows are designed for configuration through the app dashboard. Shopify still requires activation of the app embed in the intended theme after installation.
Can I redirect visitors to another regional store?
Yes, when the destination is appropriate for the merchant’s regional setup. Test both directions so regional stores do not redirect visitors back and forth.
Will it stop every visitor, bot, or request from a country?
No guarantee of that kind is supported. The app controls the storefront experience and depends on an IP-based country signal. They should not be marketed as an edge firewall or a complete fraud system.
